I always wanted to create a Special Forces Group figure – with combat action poses! After extensive browsing on references, I was inspired to customize a figure from the 5th SFG. I used bbi’s DOAV vest. This vest is brilliant however the huge zip is a letdown. Therefore I made improvements by removing the zipper and then stitching the front part together to make the vest better fitting .I also created an overall dusty finish on the vest by light airbrushing with desert tan color. To achieve the overall action packed position, something had to be done on the boots – yup its bent on the tip. I placed a wire armature within the boot – so its bendable as well. This figure is equipped with a M4 Carbine with M203 Launcher, ACOG Sights and ANPEQ. I repainted the weapon and gave the overall worn look. I also scratch built a 3 point sling. I was very lucky to have won first position with this figure in a local 1/6th Action Figure Competition in the Improved/Custom Category.
